This was truly just so special to me that I wanted to share this. Autumn has heard the story, but it warmed my heart so much so that I thought I'd post it here, too...
I was in Santa Cruz last Saturday and I looked across the campfire and saw Curtis- a dear friend whom I met a couple of times this year on the playa while riding around with the Mrrps.
I yelled out, “Hey, Curtis!” and then realized that he had no context for knowing who I was and that trying to explain across a fire would be complicated. So once I got his attention, I yelled out, “Mrrrrrp, Mrrp!” Everyone but Curtis gave me this look like I was crazy (which was really cute, by the way), but you should’ve seen the GRIN on his face. He stood up and I walked over, gave him a really big hug, and told him I was a friend of the Mrrps and where I had met him. Then we sat sharing our love for what an amazing group of women that circulate in this bucket of love. I got all teary eyed and homesick. We smiled and reflected, and bonded.
Thank you to each one of you for your presence in a beautiful weekend of mine. In spirit, there was a celebration of your presence in Curtis’s life and in mine. It meant (and means) a lot.
Mrrp! Mrrp! with lots of love.

Re: Sharing a Mrrp! Mrrp! Moment...
Sat, November 12, 2005 - 3:05 AMWell...some may talk most unendearingly BUT... the truth of the matter is we are full of love and hearing D's experience and sharing it with Jeremy made a major impact on me. Isn't that what we're all here for? To touch those around us who are special and to remind them that they aren't alone? Curtis made me feel very special my very first year at BM even though we all know that he had a major crush on Autumn(yeah, who doesn't?). It's certainly about connection and finding that piece in each of us who needs to be supported, loved, and celebrated. Oh, Gawd, I am soooo effin mushy. Okay, the secret is out. I am the most sensitive and sentimental of the Mrrps, but not by much. Honestly, anytime a compliment is thrown out, I blush. Yeah, me. I do blush, ya know. -
